The Peace Bridge which is placed across the River Foyle in Derry connecting the Ebrington Square with the rest of the City Centre was opened on 25th June 2011. The Bridge was built with intentions for relations to be improved between the largely unionist ‘Waterside’ with the largely nationalist ‘Cityside’, hence the name ‘Peace Bridge’. The Peace Bridge was designed by AECOM, who also designed the Sutong Yangtz River Bridge, and Wilkinson Eyre Architects, who designed the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

A pre model for the Peace Bridge was made in 2011 and was based in the Ebrington Centre Derry. Irvine Moving Solutions was contacted by the North West Regional College as they were having the Peace bridge model moved from the Ebrington Centre to their premises on the Strand Rd, Derry.
This model was moved on Friday the 19th August 2011. The job took 10 of our men with the model weighing 140kgs. For the job we used our Bespoke packaging materials which were used to secure the Model. The Model was then transferred by our Scania Lorry.

David Birkett Architect and Designer of the “Peace Bridge Model” through AECOM was very happy with the job done and quoted “Thank you very much for the careful and professional manner in which you delivered the Model.
